A fundamental motivation behind my work is my personal enthusiasm for the nearly inexhaustible resource of sounds, musical actions, performance challenges, and insights provided by the extended piano. Now I would like to share my enthusiasm with you by conveying well-established information, interesting details, and inspiration for further thinking or experimentation.
I am therefore starting a blog about the extended piano, in which I will publish information about the topic regularly. The blog will include academic research, experience and accounts gained from my own praxis, as well as that gained from my work with composers and others I have met through the process of exploring new pieces, and I will present this in texts, short videos, and other formats.
Specific performance methods and sound-altering objects will be featured at the beginning, including both the classic and rarer examples. The photos below should provide some clues about the first objects.
Have fun guessing!
